John Douglas is a busy man! He sends another MODOK our way:

This one is inspired by the Kaiju Cutdowns, drawings showing the internal anatomy of various Japanese monsters of my youth. In this case, it is more of a M.O.D.O.K. Melt-through, revealing what all is happening inside that giant head and floating canister. This is probably a more disturbing submission than usual (mostly due to the image of M.O.D.O.K. riding around commando--YIKES!), but here you go, nonetheless. Ugh, easy stomach...

Into the Home stretch.

Rounding the corner into the final week of March MODOK Madness always feels bittersweet for me.
Sad to see it go, but also filled with a tremendous happiness that people seem to enjoy the Marvel that is MODOK!  Best of all I was able to see my fellow MODOK blog founder Brendan this past weekend, which managed to make the end of a difficult week more manageable.

So, Martial all your Mindblasts and get ready to bring MMM 2018 home for it's eleventh year! Brendan has loaded up the blog with some fantastic stuff for the next few days, and I'll be here too so that we can post up any other goodness you might send to the inbox before 1159 PM on March 31st.

Because after Day thirty one, we're done.

So, a few nights back I bumped into Eric at a New York watering hole. I hadn't seen him in a while so I asked if he'd have a MODOK for the blog this month.  Lo and behold, a few days later this wanders into the inbox with the message,

I have a confession. I'm stuck in 80"s nostalgia for some of the better moments in life. Tron is one of the classics. For now the other ideas will have to be shelved. Here's to Modok as a Control Program!

Here's hoping that Daft Punk does an album for MODOK too, while we're on the subject of Tron.
Otherwise I'm pretty sure they're getting a Mindblast. Or maybe they'll just have to swap the helmets for some beekeeper gear.

Mighty MINDBLAST!

Hello fellow Beekeepers,

Man I love drawing stuff in profile. I also love drawing little cartoon type MODOK drawings all March long. As you well know, we've got about ONE WEEK of MODOK to go here. This drawing (like most of my others this year) uses Sharpie markers, a Rollerball pen, and some Liquid paper pen to work on tone and texture.  Really feel like I'm getting a better handle with the materials every time.

Couldn't resist a quick splash of color at the very end, just too much fun.

Minimalist MODOKS March Onward.

Alright, alright...
I've gotten a little carried away with the color and photoshop work in my past few submissions.
Please forgive my most egregious error on that front, and chalk it up to my fervor for some March MODOK Madness.  As for this one, I'm pretty happy with the finish on it.  Feel like I'm getting a better feeling for the push and pull of lights and darks between the Sharpies, and the white out pen effects.  I'm also realizing that I've been drawing his face a little oddly here of late (too small) and I'm aiming to spread the features out more.

Not entirely sure what MODOK was watching here on the view monitor at A.I.M. HQ.  But, it's left him in a pretty intensely bad mood.  Guess he's gonna try to wind down now while watching some old footage from that one time he Mindblasted Avengers HQ. I'm pretty sure I heard him muttering something about "What's purple dude got that I don't? Some silly gauntlet?"
