Submitted MODOK: Jarek Pulit

This most topical MODOK drawing comes from Jarek Pulit.
He writes,
Hi,
I discovered your blog last year from a post on drawn.ca but was one month too late to contribute. So this time around I made a concerted effort to get at it early in the month. I couldn't resist using Rush Limbaugh's cherubic face as the inspiration for a Modok/Limbaugh mashup. I call him Lodok ... I suppose.
Killer stuff Jarek, Thanks very much for sharing your work and time with us..

Good friend of MMM (and Pedro and myself, as well), Mary Varn, sends in this great BinkDOK:
It's Catdok! Also known as Binkdok. Squirrels will never be safe again.
By Mary Varn, of NPC Comic, where Bink lives in a more natural kitty form.
Mary is a hardworking webcomic writer/artist and I'm a big fan of her NPC Comic.  If you're not following her work, hit the link above, where she posts often.  Do it now, then come back to check out more MODOKs.  Thank you, Mary!

Something is MODOK in the state of Denmark!
Henning Larsen hosts a comic podcast in Denmark and sent us a vast bounty of MODOK art.

Here's the third of the batch Henning sent us,  It's GANMODOK, a super slick amalgam of our mighty mental organism friend, and the Hindu deity GANESHA...  Lots of slick pen work and detail on this one too, Digging on the stippling and meditating on the crown-like lotus blossom at top his head.  This MODOK will put your mind at ease and then Blast your mind to bits...
Thanks, Mr. Larsen.  Be sure to, tune back in for more pieces from this Danish cartoonist.

Submitted MODOK: Benjamin Ritter

This mash-up comes from Benjamin Ritter:

I call this SONDOK.  I imagine this is the Modok Dr. Robotnik would create if he ever actually caught Sonic.
Hey, that might be incentive to get caught for the speedy hedgehog!  Thanks, Benjamin!

Submitted MODOK: Joe Crawford

Joe sends in his second MODOK this year:
Did this one the other day while at work - with minimal pens at mybeck and call, MODOK is there! Every day is a good day for a littleMODOK!
Loving this March!

Submitted MODOK: Carter and Spencer

Carter and Spencer return with some awesome MODOKs this year.  Check it out:

Carter (10) says:

"My picture has Modok trying to cook a hot dog with his head laser.  It came to me when I was looking at the Superhero Squad one-panel comics and thought I'd try my own joke.  I drew it with a pencil, but used Adobe Illustrator to color it."

Spencer (7) says:

"I used colored pencils to make "Mobacca" because it was a mix of Modok and Chewbacca.  It came to me because I was playing Star Wars when we drew it and because I like Chewbacca because he is fuzzy."

Chewbacca IS fuzzy!  Great job, guys!  Thanks for your submissions!

From the fantastic and talented pen of Lar DeSouza:
My first foray into March MODOK madness :) An Inspector Spacetime MODOK.
This is great, Lar, and we didn't mean to snub you for a week!  It's been a busy March beyond administrating MMM 2012 for both Pedro and I, and sometimes we goof.  Thanks for your submission!

Check out Lar's ongoing webcomic, Least I Could Do, written by Ryan Sohmer and art by Mr. DeSouza He also has prints available here.

Submitted MODOK: Philip Reed

Where would you hide if you had a big headed bounty hunter on your tail?  The mall?  NO!  Philip writes:
What if MODOK and Boba Fett were one and the same character? I'd like you to meet MOBA FETT, the galaxy's greatest bounty hunter and destroyer. This Mental Organism Built for Annihilation and For Eradicating and Terrorizing Themall was digitally created in Photoshop . . . because I could.

You could and did.  Awesome.  You can see more of Philip Reed's work at www.battlegrip.com.

Submitted MODOK: Daniel Butler

Daniel Butler from over at CopernicusJonesComics sent us this Menacing MODOK with full battle headgear, and a mean disposition.  Great use of colored line work on this image.  Plus, dig that murderous expression in his eyes.  Good stuff.

For more of Mr. Butler's work check the following links:

Submitted MODOK: James Lopez

James Lopez was nice enough to send us this submission of MODOK (and an A.I.M. Beekeeper enjoying afternoon tea) which he drew while he was bored in class.
In his email he writes:
I have been a big fan of the MODOK Madness since its inception, thank you so much for doing something so fun during March. I don't know what it is that draws so many people to this character. Let's be honest, he is a maleficent, uncordial, abrasive, rotund, conniving, capricious, evil character. But, similar to a pug, he is just so damn ugly that you feel compelled to love him and care for him. That awkward sense of love and attraction that a human can only give to a large orbiting head. Because at the end of the day, he is YOUR orbiting head.

Thank you very much and good luck with one of the few things I look forward to every year!

Excelsior!
Many thanks to James for letting MODOK into his heart and mind this March, during class lectures no less... Yep, I kinda see MODOK like a Pug dog.  But, will admit that I wouldn't wanna clean up after MODOK during walkies...  Not enough plastic baggies...ever.

Submitted MODOK: Steven Mertens

Mr. Mertens, an artist who hails from Williamsburg, Brooklyn (my old hood!) submits this cheerful MODOK and writes:

This is a piece I did for your March Modok Madness .... All the pictures I see of Modok he looks so unhappy. I thought I would portray him with a smile, maybe he's at a birthday party.

Right on.  MODOK doesn't get invited to too many birthday parties because, you know, all the killing.  And he steals presents.  Check out Steven's blog here.

Submitted MODOK: J. Kantz

This MODOK cutie comes by way of John Kantz who writes:
Hey, I think this art jam is awesome. I totally meant to draw a M.O.D.O.K. last year when one of my co-workers introduced me to your blog, but I forgot. I made sure to get a head start this year. Anyway, I have devised an image as jarring as an actual telekinetic force blast from M.O.D.O.K. himself! Look on and despair at the Mental Organism Designed Only for Kawaiiii.
One of my followers from tumblr - "This was M.O.D.O.K.'s first attempt at being cute. Did you like it? PUNY HUMAN!"

Submitted MODOK: Henning Larsen

Something is MODOK in the state of Denmark!
Henning Larsen hosts a comic podcast in Denmark and sent us a vast bounty of MODOK art.

Here's the second in the batch Henning sent us,  it's a stellar Pie-eyed MODOK in the style of an early 20's cartoon character.  He comes with awesome rubber hose style limbs, a blaster sporting industrial bulbs, and even jaunty lyrical music notes radiating Kirby style of his Mind blast array.  Toss in some three fingered white gloves, and some henchmen with Cyclone fence for face guards and you've got something truly magical.
Thanks, Mr. Larsen.  Be sure to, tune back in for more pieces from this Danish cartoonist.

MO' ROCK with DIO-DOK!

Here MODOK busted out his Big Rocking Hairdo to sing HOLY DIVER at the A.I.M. offices weekly Karaoke outing. He also signs a stirring version of "You were always on my mind." For obvious reasons.

Frankly, a good many of my Modok drawings are drawings that start being about one thing but gradually change focus to something else. Not sure how I got to this

Hope you dig,
P

Submitted MODOK: Jeremy Nguyen

Lamenting the end of Black History Month and elated by the beginning of March MODOK Madness, Jeremy forged a bridge between the two this past March first.  We love MODOKs of all colors, baby.  He included a sketch of the piece as well

Jeremy has some great work up at his site.  Check it out.
