Thursday Night MODOK!

The blog has seen some great submissions so far, here's another late night post from me to keep things rolling.

March is for Modok,

Submitted MODOK: Jordan Blum!

We received this little aggro MODOK from Jordan Blum, who modestly prefaced the submission with "there's a reason I write instead of draw."  Well, we think it's awesome.

Oh, and what is it that Jordan writes?  Well, that would be the animated series Marvel's MODOK appearing only on Hulu and starring co-creator Patton Oswalt as the main mental organism himself!  Not bad work if you can get it.

Submitted MODOK: John Douglas

John is a long time contributor to our annual MODOK festivities, and he's been kind enough to blast our inbox with his first submission of the season. He writes,
Greetings!  :-)
Well, even with the extra Leap-Day, I managed to get off to a bit of a late start with my submission to March M.O.D.O.K. Madness for 2020.  I usually have one chambered to go shortly after the stroke of midnight, but this time March just sneaked up on me when I wasn't looking.
Anyways, I look forward to spamming y'all with more submissions, soon!
We're looking forward to more art Mr. Douglas, and are happy sharing this link to your other artwork
with many thanks for your years of continued support: https://johndouglasart.blogspot.com/

May your Mindblasts be mighty!

Focusing a Mindblast.

"To hit your target when Mindblasting, you gotta A.I.M."
Hey all! Day three and we're off to an awesome start, lots of great images in the pipeline. Here is another one from me with some photoshops on it, because I like fiddling around with that stuff.
If you need me, I'll be over here inking some MODOK sketches.

Happy March MODOK Madness!

Submitted MODOK: Per S

Per sends us this MODOK from way back in yesteryear, when our favorite mental organism was toying with idea of journeying down a homicidal path.  We all know how that wound up!  Thanks so much, Per!

Just a Mini MODOK MONDAY_001

Felt pen, Marker, Liquid paper, and some photoshop.
Let it be known far and wide....
I still draw on paper, like a whole bunch. Typically carry a clipboard with a quarter ream of copy paper tacked onto it, in case I want to do some drawings. I tend to clutter pages with stuff and sometimes do pretty small doodles on those pages, this is one such rendering. Threw some photo-chop at it and am posting it up. Will endeavor to get more stuff like this posted each Monday, along with a few more in depth images to help celebrate MMM 2020!

Keep on Mindblasting!

Submitted MODOK: Marc Basile

What's full of bran and deadly to the taste? Why Krunchy MO's Cereal, part of a complete breakfast for mental organisms everywhere!  Thanks to Marc Basile for this cool retro piece!

Hello MMM2020!

Day one of MARCH MODOK MADNESS 2020!
Many thanks to my good friend Brendan for helping get the blog up and running this year and for being a genuinely excellent dude. Looking forward to seeing and making some MODOK artwork all month long. So I'll start with this lil' guy here.

May your Mindblasts be Many, Happy March to all!

Submitted MODOK: Gavin de Lint

Here's a piece that came in at the end of last year's March MODOK Madness celebration (with 18 minutes to spare!) that we let slip through the cracks.  Sorry, Gavin, but it was worth the wait for it's a beauty!  Let this be a lesson to all of you MODOK fans: don't wait, send us your MODOK now!

You can see more of Gavin's work at his website, www.gavin.delint.ca or his instagram, www.instagram.com/delintartdesign

March MODOK Madness 2020!

Welcome, one and all, to this year's March MODOK Madness, celebrating MODOK the whole month of March 2020!  This is the one place, and one time of year, where the fans can come together to celebrate the mental organism with style.

How do I celebrate, you ask?  Good question.  Create a piece of artwork with MODOK as the subject and email it to modokmarch at gmail dot com.  We will post it as soon as able for you.  Multiple entries by an individual over the month are accepted and encouraged.  Tell your friends to check us out and keep coming back daily to view new works.  Comments on the posts and sharing via social media is appreciated!

And... that's it.  We keep going until March 31st, 11:59 PM EST.  Then we go to sleep until next March.

So... bring it.

MINDBLASTS to the LAST!

Pencils Down! March 2019 is now done and gone, but not forgotten.

It's officially April so, we'll be letting the ol' inbox take a breather whilst giving MODOK an opportunity to fester in our hearts and minds until March next year. I definitely have a few ideas that'll have to simmer on the back burner until we return.

I'll begin by once again thanking everyone who submitted (one or many) MODOK images this year. Having this regular community of fans and artists that seems to grow every year has been crucial in keeping this blog moving forward. You all make this a Marvelous way to enjoy March.

I'd also MUST thank my longtime friend (and fellow beekeeper) Brendan for sticking with me all of these years on this mission to celebrate MODOK. It's an honor to know the man and he is a constant source of creative and artistic inspiration. I can't imagine doing this event without you man, you introduced me to MODOK, I love yah buddy.

In closing, it's been a great 12th year. If you feel the need for more MODOK in the coming months, maybe go into our backlog of art to check out some of the works from previous years.

So until next time, Keep on Mindblasting.
