Based on Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s classic “four panel”/”eight words” origin for Superman from “All Star Superman” #1, name a comic book character and our artists will do a four panel/eight word origin for that character.

I'll admit that my awareness of M.O.D.O.K. came entirely through your blog first back in 2011. I loved it and then researched the character. 

Now I'm writing and drawing a weekly comic strip for the UK bookstore, Waterstones, called Sprout's Bookclub. Stan Lee has been visiting for the past couple of weeks. But Jack Kirby showed up last week and this week, he brought M.O.D.O.K. (and others with him).

Beautiful work, Nye.   Mr. Wright is an American illustrator and cartoonist living in the UK.  His graphic novel, "Things to do in a Retirement Home Trailer Park... When You're 29 and Unemployed", was published by Myriad Editions in 2012. You can check out his work at  http://welsheldorado.com.

Carlos sends us the cover to his webcomic, translated to English as "MODOK, Head of AIM." Carlos writes:

...I send this little piece of work, a slightly larger version of the cover for a little Spanish webcomic of mine called "MODOK, Cabeza de IMA" ("MODOK, Head of AIM"). Unfortunatelly, the webcomic is so Spanish-like the head-related (bad) jokes would be lost in translation if I ever dare to translate them for English-speakers, but that doesn't mean you can't look at this cover and know that someone in Spain is paying tribute to a certain Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing.

The Maleficent MODOK #1: A Marvel Masterwork Pin-Up Page Finish

Hey all!

I plan on continuing my comic from last year, The Maleficent MODOK #1, which I never got to finish due to time constraints and, let's face it, after each March, I'm always a little burned out on MODOK to keep going! Not that I don't love the big guy. Here's the finish of the Marvel Masterwork Pin-Up sketch I posted last year, and I hope to follow with the rest of "Boyos' Night Out" soon. If I have time, keep your eye out for The Maleficent MODOK #13...

We got a two-fer from the comic writer known as Dern (who, with his art amigo, Prindiville) are responsible for the webcomic Hello With Cheese. The first piece is a play off of Fairey's "Andre the Giant has a posse" sticker (available as a postcard) and the second, an HWC desktop pic, is a Pokemon-themed response to this Ironman post. A bit late and behind schedule, here's the part of the comic celebrating St. Patrick's Day, as every year I try to incorporate Banshee into a MODOK piece around the holiday (see March 17th entries from me this year, and the past two as well). So I am proud to present "Boyos' Night Out", the annual battle of the drink featuring MODOK vs. Banshee! Who will remain standing at the end of the night?

I have 2 more story arcs I wanted to do, but time runs short and life gets away from one, however, I'm going to continue on with posting what I can of issue 1 until the 31st ends it. Next up: "Boyos' Night Out!", a Marvel Team-Up of sorts featuring nobody's favorite X-Man! See you soon.
