Pedro's Mid-Week MODOK!

Quick little Micron Pen sketch with a dash of digital color.
Hello fellow MODOK Marchers,

It's been a good first week of March MODOK Madness.  I just need to find some additional time to do more images of my own.  Here's a quick little sketch that I slapped some digital paint on tonight.

Hope you dig, and keep the MODOK art coming!

The Line It Is Drawn: Matt Sandbrook

Last year, CBR's The Line It Is Drawn posted their MMM pieces on April 1st, missing the short March window this blog upholds.  We lead this year's celebration with those pieces.

BigMike20X6 suggested: Hunter S. Thompson. The art for this one is by Matt Sandbrook. His website is here.

Behold! The Origin of MODOK--

From The Line It Is Drawn, Week 326:
Based on Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s classic “four panel”/”eight words” origin for Superman from “All Star Superman” #1, name a comic book character and our artists will do a four panel/eight word origin for that character.
Twitter follower, KeithAlanMorgan suggested: MODOK.  I loves me a MODOK suggestion.

Check out the other talented Liners' 4-panel, 8-word origins here.

Submitted MODOK: Martien Bos

The mighty Martien has returned for another year of MODOK Madness!  He writes,
Hi peeps,

Especially for you, I drew the authentic love slash bastard child of MODOK and the Joker. Obviously, he's in pain, hence the tear – which is as real as yours or mine these days.
Take care. All The best from Amsterdam,
Martien Bos
Big thanks to Mr. Bos for his continued support, and for keeping the appreciation for MODOK internationally strong.  Be sure to scope out more of Martien's work at martienbos.com.

Keep Mindblasting!

Submitted MODOK: Rob McDaniel

Rob sent us some more photos of his sculpt from Emerald City Comic Con and writes,
Here are a couple pix of where I ended up on day two. This guy has gotten a lot of love and recognition from comic con attendees. You know parents are raising their kids right when a 5 year old runs up with a big smile on their face and yells, "I know him! He's MODOK!"
March MODOK Madness is proof positive that people of all ages can get together and enjoy a good Mindblast. For more work from Mr. McDaniel head on over to cgmutant.

Thanks for sending in the update photos Rob, Your continued support is appreciated.

Submitted MODOK: Andy Blanchard

MODOK by Andy Blanchard.
Andy sent us this sweet MODOK drawing and writes,
Hi,

I’ve never submitted anything to you guys in the past, nor have I even drawn MODOK before, although I’ve wanted to in the past. Here’s my first drawing of the killing machine! Done with Berol art markers and a Paper Mate Flair pen.
Many thanks for sending this artwork our way Mr. Blanchard. March MODOK Madness is indeed a magical time, and for me it's greatest power is drawing new submissions from A.I.M. fans everywhere.  You make March awesome.

I've gotta go by some Flair pens,
P

MODOK For Brain Cancer Awareness

From The Line It Is Drawn, Week 291 from May 2016:
This week is a special theme. Caanan Grall, one of the original artists on the Line it is Drawn and the creator of the excellent Max Overacts, sadly has a brain tumor. He is getting it operated on Tuesday and he asked if we could do a special Line about cancer and tumors this week, with him making suggestions and the artists also choosing ideas of their own. While we were planning this, sadly Darwyn Cooke also passed away from cancer. Caanan suggested we expand it to a general anti-cancer week. Cooke was from Canada and Caanan lives in Canada, thus we thought it would be nice to mention that Cooke’s family requested that anyone interested in donating to charity in honor of Cooke send the money to the Canadian Cancer Society or to The Hero Initiative. Meanwhile, the Gralls have a GoFundMe that has been generously funded so far, but you know that they could use even more, as they deal with Caanan being out of work for months.

John Douglas
John has returned once more for a March full of Mindblasts and writes,
Greetings!  :-)

What?  Is it March already?  Have you really been doing this for 10 Years?  Have I really been submitting for 5 years, now?  Where does the time go?  Why am I pestering you with another submission?  Couldn't I do a better submission?  Am I asking too many questions?

Happy 10th Anniversary!
More later?
We hope there is more MODOK John, The month is young.

Personally, I'm always happy when artists come back with fresh Mindblasts (and artwork) after all these years, gets a nice balance of inspiration and nostalgia.

A Little Bit of MODOK.

March is for MODOK!

Ten Years.

Hard to imagine that we've been sharing this experience every March now for such a notable slice of time.  What is the the Tenth Anniversary gift anyway? Paper? I don't really know.

So, I'll kick off my 2017 submissions with this little pixel based MODOK, and get cracking on some new drawings in the days to come.

I'd also like to sincerely thank my cohort (and fellow Beekeeper) Brendan Tobin for keeping the Mindblasts fully powered this year, and being an all around awesome guy.

Looking forward to seeing all the submissions this March.
So let's make some MODOK,
Pedro
